Maia Mum Acupuncture Labour Balls are a natural pain management tool to help you get through the initial stages of labour. The pressure from squeezing a spikey ball into your palm is linked to the gate control pain theory. This is where the nerve endings in your hand send messages to the brain and distract it away from the sensations of your contractions.

Please Note: as this is a wood product, the colour of the grain of each ball will vary.

In our commitment to safety, we strongly encourage you to review the ingredients, instructions, our safety disclaimer, and any special disclaimers prior to making a purchase.

The spikes of the balls press against acupressure points releasing endorphins and creating a distraction and a new focal point for the brain to concentrate on.

Acupuncture Balls FAQ

Hold a ball in each of your palms. When a contraction begins, squeeze the balls as tight as you can. Release as the contraction goes away

If you get a block duct in your breast from feeding, roll the ball over the area where the blockage to help release.

Absolute genius

I brought these as someone who is quite an anxious person; and to be to be able to roll these around in my hands and to squeeze really takes my mind off when I’m having an anxious moment.
They’re sturdy and I love the bag that they come in.

Perfect for labour!

I never let go of these balls while in labour so much so that I had marks on my hands for a few days post. They are not painful to squeeze but a really nice comfortable distraction during contractions. Will be using for future labour and highly recommend to others!
